R/P FLIP (FLoating Instrument Platform) is the weirdest ship i have seen in my entire life when i was shipboard training, the first time i saw, me and 3rd mate was panic to see there is a sinking ship during our watch so we had to call the capt for order, the capt come up and laugh at us. He told us there nothing to worry about. He say it a research platform that build in this way. at that time i was amaze of who weird this ship work, i later found out that is it use by the U.S naval research and also by the U.S meteorology department, the NOAA ( national oceanic and atmospherics administration). what good about this R.P is that is use to measure the wave height, temp of atmosphere, water density and echo research, but it a shame i didn't bring my phone on the bridge to take picture of the one of a kind ship ...or platform.
