Gone but never forgotten-Chester Bennington
Chester Charles Bennington was born in Phoenix, Arizona, to Susan Elaine (Johnson), a nurse, and Lee Russell Bennington, a police detective. His parents divorced when he was 11 years old. He has two half sisters and a half brother. He attended Centennial High School at the beginning of his freshman year. Then he went to Greenway High School where he started his first band, Grey Daze. He graduated from Washington High School in 1994.
Chester was the one who came up with the name Linkin Park for his band (taken from the then-name of a park in Santa Monica, California). It was originally supposed to be spelled "Lincoln" but since the band couldn't afford to buy the domain name lincolnpark.com from its owner, they changed the spelling in order to buy linkinpark.com.
Musicians from all genres and several other celebs were stunned by the sudden, devastating news that Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington had committed suicide.
Chester hanged himself Thursday morning at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates. The news of Chester's death comes on what would've been Chris Cornell's 53rd birthday. Cornell and Bennington were close friends, with Bennington even performing at Cornell's funeral in May.
Bennington, who sported piercings and tattoos, struggled with drug and alcohol addictions at various times during his life. Chester leaves behind his second wife Talinda and six children. His bandmate and fellow frontman, Mike Shinoda, paid tribute to Chester just hours after the news broke on Thursday.
You can't be afraid of people willing to hurt you, cause if you fear life, then you will never live. (Chester Bennington,1976-2017)
